This summer we did something we haven't done in a really long time. We went away, just for fun. We realized that time is flying by and that we needed to slow down and enjoy it, even if it was just for a few days. If I needed proof that life passes quickly, it is this. Max is headed to high school this year (I'm still in denial about this fact). We decided to take the kids to Kennebunkport, Maine. It's a place John and I had been but we'd never been with the boys. (This trip included lots more mini golf and ice cream!) It's such a beautiful place and we had a great time exploring surrounding towns of Wells, York and Ogunquit.

One of the favorite new spots we discovered is the beautiful Saint Ann's Church on Ocean Avenue. I saw it mentioned online so we decided to stop in and wow! What an amazing place! The view and the grounds are stunning! (Can you imagine getting married here?)

We really enjoyed Wonder Mountain Fun Park in Wells. It's a great mini golf place with an arcade and human maze. Perfect for kids!

The many faces of Alex...

And Max....

A quick trip to the Nubble Lighthouse (and some crazy seagulls).

One of our favorite things about our trip was the ice cream at Rococo in Kennebunkport! Sadly I don't have any pictures, but it was the best ice cream I've ever had. (Many thanks to Justin & Mary for mentioning it on their blog.) Ice cream and an evening stroll around Dock Square. Perfect!
