Wow! October was crazy. There were book sales, parent-teacher conferences, Halloween costumes and the most awesome haunted house ever. (Thanks to all who came out. It was a big success!) Sometimes I wasn’t sure if I was coming or going, but it was fun!
John and I also attended the PDN PhotoPlus Expo last week. It was great to hop on a train and head into New York City for a day of all things photography. We were greeted with great weather and a taxi waiting at the train station. I knew it was going to be a good day!
And it was. It was great to visit with some of the vendors that we do business with, like Nikon, Smug Mug and Couture Book. And it was also great to see so many photographers that I truly admire. I have to admit I was more than a little star struck. Among our sightings were Scott Bourne, Becker, Zack Arias, Kevin Kubota and Tamara Lackey.
One of the highlights of the day was the lighting seminar that we took with Cliff Mautner. This man is my idol and so inspirational. How ironic that I had my picture taken with him in the most unflattering light ever.

The other highlight of my day was meeting Susan Stripling. She’s amazing. And so nice! I love that.

As a little bonus, when we entered the room where our seminar was being held, we saw Jasmine Star, whose blog I read every day! And she was just as beautiful in real life. Here are my paparazzi shots.

And her husband, JD. Anyone who reads her blog feels like you know him, too.

It was a great, inspirational day! And the best part is that I got to spend it with John, who loved it just as much as I did. I am truly lucky!
