Sometimes, by the end of the school year, my brain feels a bit fried. All of the rushed mornings, lunch making, school projects, endless laundry, permission slips, what are we gonna have for dinner tonight's catch up with me and my brain turns to mush.
Here is a conversation I had with myself (yup, with _myself_) that proves that summer has arrived just in the nick of time.
Me, upon arriving at the gym and realizing I don't have my phone: "Where is my phone??"
Slight panic settles in.
The feeling that I am missing a limb arrives.
The paranoia that I lost my phone somewhere although I hadn't gone anywhere that morning comes.
Me, to myself: "Oh, I think I left it on the kitchen counter. Yeah, I remember putting it down. I'm pretty sure that's where it is. I'll just call John and ask him to look for me. Just to make sure. Yup, let me find my phone to call John and ask him to look for my phone."
_Shuffles through purse._
"Wait, where's my phone?"
And, scene.
Thank God it's summer!! (Now could we just lose the heat?)
